2018 Southern California Art Therapy Association 3rd Annual Art Show

Extended Deadline is November 4, 2018

INVITATION

A call to submit artwork for Southern California Art Therapy (SoCalATA)’s annual art show. This will be an event for networking, fellowship, and an opportunity to sell your artwork! This is a juried art show. 

TYPE OF WORK ACCEPTED

Work in any media must be the artist’s own original concept, design, and execution. Images related to the theme of the art show will have first priority for selection. 

This year’s theme is “An Art Therapy Inquiry"

How has art therapy impacted your life, process and practice? How do we, the practitioners of art therapy, consumers, and/or advocates of art therapy express our concerns and passions through art that maybe impacting our lives, the community or our field?

Please consider creating art around your lived experience and art therapist identity.

Submission from art therapists and friends of art therapy will be considered. 

SoCalATA and Art Exhibit Chair reserve the right to select and/or reject any image submitted. No exceptions.

“An Art Therapy Inquiry” will be viewable the following times:

Saturday, November 10th, 6:00pm-9:00pm (opening) 

November 12th-16th by appointment only

November 18th, before our closing CEU event (registration required & details TBA). 

ENTRY PROCEDURE

Please send your high resolution digital images and accompanying information to: secretary@socalarttherapy.org no later than November 4th, 2018.

What to include:

  • Register submissions and images via event registration on our events page or CLICK HERE. Submissions fees are $15 for members and $25 non-members
  • Please include the price of your artwork or if your artwork is not for sale (NFS)
  • Submit art in the form of high resolution digital image file via email to secretary@socalarttherapy.org. Please include front of art work and back of artwork. All artwork submitted must be ready to hang--hanging wire only
  • Sculpture and performance art is also acceptable. Please email secretary@socalarttherapy.org to submit your 3D of performance art.
  • You may submit 1 image per submission fee. Please make sure to clearly identify art piece with its corresponding title, media, dimensions, price (if not intending to sell please indicate-not for sale) and your name/s (as will be displayed; example, Jane Doe, MA, ATR-BC) Please include your phone number (for administrative use, only).
  • In the subject line of your e-mail, it should read: "Art Show 2018 Submission (your name)." Art submissions will be accepted UNLESS you receive an e-mail or phone call from the Exhibit Chair indicating that modifications need to be made before acceptance or denial of the entry into the exhibit 

Art Drop Off: 

Thank you for your art submission. Art drop off will occur Monday through Thursday (November 5th -8th) between 8:30am and 3:30pm. Appointments to drop off artwork can be arranged through Stephanie Escobar at SEscobar@ableartswork.org or 310-970-9945. Gallery address:  Artifact Gallery & Forum--3827 Rosecrans Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250

All art submissions must be registered through with SoCalATA before drop off. Details of art drop-off and pick-up will also be emailed.

Any artwork that does not get picked up on Sunday, November 18th, can be picked up the following week Monday-Friday during program hours 8:30-3:30pm. Appointments to pick up artwork can be arranged through Stephanie Escobar at SEscobar@ableartswork.org or 310-970-9945

Artwork that is left behind after Friday, November 23rd, the artist will be charged $20 for each additional day it is left at the gallery.

AGREEMENT

Submission of digital images of your work indicates acceptance of the following conditions: The digital images will be used for media promotion of the show. The usage of all digital images will be granted to SoCalATA for promotional purpose of the show and the association.
