SoCalATA Board Descriptions
President The president determines all standing and special committees with approval of the Board to carry out the business of the Chapter. The president calls and presides at meetings of the Board and at the Annual General Membership meeting.
President-ElectThe President-Elect serves a two-year term before succeeding the President in office. The general duties of the President-Elect are to oversee the work of Ad Hoc Committees; study presidential duties and responsibilities; and oversee the implementation of the Chapter's Policies and Procedures. The President-Elect is also expected to perform the duties of the President in the President's absence or inability to serve.
Chapter Delegate Serves a two-year term and may be eligible to serve a maximum of two additional terms on the Board of Directors. The Chapter Delegate represents SoCalATA at the annual meeting of the Assembly of Chapters held during the AATA Annual Conference and shares information coming from the AATA Assembly of Chapters with the Chapter Membership. The delegate prepares updates and reports to the Board of Directors and the Chapter Membership.
TreasurerServes a two-year term and may be eligible to serve a maximum of two additional terms on the Board of Directors. The Treasurer oversees the finances of the Chapter based on the policies and directives of the Board and acts as advisor regarding budgets and expenses. The Treasurer is responsible for signing Board-approved disbursements and consulting with the Board when expenditures or reimbursements are questionable, unbudgeted, or exceed budgeted amounts. The Treasurer will also prepare and present financial reports as well as maintain current membership list based on dues received from AATA.
SecretaryThe Secretary serves a two-year term. The general duties include record/present minutes of official meetings; update P&Ps; maintain Chapter's official records; handle official correspondence as requested by the President.
