Student Mini Grant Application - Now Open

The Southern California Art Therapy Association (SoCalATA) is offering two mini grants of $250 each.  These grants are intended to support current students of art therapy.  Awardees will  also receive a a one-year membership to SoCalATA.

Eligible applicants are students who can demonstrate enrollment in a graduate art therapy program. Completed applications with all supporting documents must be submitted to info@socalarttherapy.org using the subject line, ATTN: SoCalATA Mini Grant or use the link provided below no later than September 17th.

One of the two mini grants will be awarded to a student who self-identifies as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC).  The intention for this grant is to affirm and support all BIPOC students, including other intersectional identities (i.e. gender, race, ethnicity, social class, religion, sexual orientation, ability, and gender identity), by providing support to those students in art therapy graduate education programs. If you would also like to be considered for this specific grant, please indicate below if you identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC).

TO BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE, ALL APPLICANTS MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: 
2. Proof of Acceptance or Enrollment in an art therapy program.
3. An art response to one or more of the selected questions with a statement about your process. A digital image of the original art piece satisfies this requirement.

* Your art response can be in any medium that you choose and only needs to reflect one of the suggested prompts (see below).


SELECTION CRITERIA:  
Interested applicants must submit a completed application, including 1. application form, 2. proof of acceptance or enrollment in an art therapy program, 3. a digital image of art response to at least one of selected prompts with a brief statement about the art process.  The selection process entails using a Randomized Generator of the applicants who met the full criteria and complete the application to take out human bias. The drawing will be witnessed by committee.  


The recipients of the grants will be notified by September 22nd.
