Our professional organization and the Board relies on your recommendations for dedicated candidates. Only SoCalATA Members (student and professional) may submit nominations.
Below are brief descriptions of the duties of each positions. *Keep in mind that you can add your own flavor and direction to each role as well.
President Elect:
This year, the President-Elect serves a one-year term before succeeding the President in office. The general duties of the President-Elect are to oversee the work of Ad Hoc Committees; study presidential duties and responsibilities; and oversee the implementation of the Chapter's Policies and Procedures. The President-Elect is also expected to perform the duties of the President in the President's absence or inability to serve.
Treasurer:
The treasurer is trained by the previous treasurer before fully transitioning in the position. The treasurer helps oversee the finances of the Chapter based on the policies and directives of the Board. They advise Board Members and Committee Chairs regarding their budgets and expenses and respond to all Board-approved disbursements in a timely manner. The treasure prepares and presents a financial report at each Board meeting and AGM and helps track membership dues via SoCalATA’s bank account.
Secretary:
The Secretary acts as the Chapter’s accountability coach and official record keeper. The Secretary documents Board proceedings and tracks tasks created by the Board in Board Meetings.The Secretary also creates virtual meetings and sends out minutes before the next board meeting.
Chapter Delegate:
Represent SoCalATA at the annual meeting of Affiliate Chapters held during the AATA Annual Conference. Report actions and reports from the Affiliate Chapter meeting to SoCalATA members via report in the next issue of the SoCalATA Newsletter..
