*DEADLINE EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 10TH*

The Southern California Art Therapy Association (SoCalATA) is offering a mini grant of $250 to an art therapy graduate student who self-identifies as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC).
Grants are available through private donations, and are intended to support current students of art therapy. The donor’s intention for this grant is to affirm and support all BIPOC students, including other intersectional identities (i.e. gender, race, ethnicity, social class, religion, sexual orientation, ability, and gender identity), by providing support to those students in art therapy graduate education programs. SoCalATA will also gift a membership to the awardee.
Eligible applicants are students who can demonstrate enrollment in a graduate art therapy program. Completed applications with all supporting documents must be submitted to info@socalarttherapy.org using the subject line, ATTN: SoCalATA Mini Grant or use the link provided below no later than December 10th.
TO BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE, ALL APPLICANTS MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
1. Application Form
2. Proof of Acceptance or Enrollment
3. An *art response to one or more of the selected questions with a statement about your process. Submit a digital image of the original art piece.
* Your art response can be in any medium that you choose and only needs to reflect one of the suggested prompts (see application).
SELECTION CRITERIA:
All eligible applicants who have submitted a completed application, including all supporting documents, will be placed in a lottery. Awardees will be selected using a random drawing process.
The recipient of the grant will be announced by December 17, 2021.
If you are not currently eligible to apply but know a student who is, invite them to submit an application. Please direct any questions to info@socalarttherapy.org. Thank you.
