Trauma & Resilience

Strengthening our alignment with our true nature: Connecting with our key inner self- aspects, through art, nature, movement and state change practices.

Presented by

Deborah Nielsen, LMFT, ATR

Ellen Speert, ATR-BC, REAT

Summary

  • Both primary and secondary trauma can be unraveled through creative use of resourcing using journaling, drawing, simple movement and meditation. These expressions will be used for self-calming and integrating vulnerabilities with internal strengths as we work with past traumas.

Held in the gardens of the California Center for Creative Renewal, nature will provide additional support in the journey.

    3 CEU’s will be provided

    Who Should Attend?

Clinicians who want to learn more about trauma and how to begin to include the body in treatment. Trauma affects the mind and body simultaneously, and healing occurs at both levels. Art Therapists, LMFTs, LCSWs, and LPCCs are eligible to earn CEUs.

    CEU Learning Objectives

    Participants will be able to:

    1)   Participants will be able to identify three self -aspects.

    2)   Participants will be able to identify the 3 aspects in correspondence with a nature metaphor.

    3)   Participants will be able to demonstrate at least one state changing practice to be able to self-calm and demonstrate for clients a way to self-calm.
